As you walk to the end of the street, you begin to foresee what is in store, as images of the elegant, tranquil face of Jiufen begin to fill your mind.A life of peace and quiet on the side of the mountainWalking along stone steps, you wind your way this way and that down the narrow alleys until you reach the appointed destination of Jiufen Elementary School, where you are met by the sweet smile of your host, Min. You follow her for less than three minutes until you reach the inconspicuous entrance of Something Easy Guesthouse to one side of the steep stone laneway. You close the door behind you and, slipping out of your shoes and into the slippers your host has prepared, you step onto the warm solid-wood floorboards. You bask in the warm lighting of the place, leaving the cold air of the mountains behind, as the mellow wooden environs instantly set your mind at ease.This space was originally designed to meet the vacation needs of Min’s family.
