The aerosol generator generates aerosol, and the air genrerator provides air. The control apparatus controls the aerosol generator and the air generator and mixes the aerosol with the air, so as to provide aerosol air into the protective clothing such that the aerosol air is used to test a leakage rate of the protective clothing. The leak detector utilizes a relative variation of the aerosol concentration at an outer surface of the protective clothing to detect whether any leak spot is existed on the protective clothing.
