Description | One day, a child raised beneath the black tea tree decided to leave the workplace behind and return to a place of serene mountains and the scenic countryside, his pure spiritual and life hometown, in order to live with the black tea plants and help the garden that raised him continue to grow sustainably. When the two children put aside their work and decide to help their parents, Black Tea Workshop was born! United in heart and mind, the family entered the world of black tea one step at a time. In order to realize their dream, they started with the designs, and following much debate, decided on a Tudor architectural style – simple, natural, refined, and down-to-earth. They drew up several designs matching the scale of their ideas for lattice windows which let in sunlight and greenery while providing great views. After cutting, pasting, and comparing, they decided on an ideal rectangular 4:3 ratio, changing the deep, narrow Tudor windows into a larger, wider design. For the color coordination of the building’s exterior, they not only diligently searched the Internet to select roof tiles, colors, magnets, tiles, and wood floors, but also visited manufacturers around Taichung to compare and contrast until they found the right texture and patterns. The bed and breakfast’s rooms are named based on the theme of black tea, such as Black Tea Seed, Black Tea Ren, Workshop Aged Tea, and Taiwanese Tea No. 18. The rooms also feature different-themed decoration, with the characters or pictures created by the workshop family or photographs subjected to a special pressure proces, giving them a unique, original style. In order to help guests feel at home, black tea pillows are provided, filling the room with a faint fragrance. The pillows are made by the three generations of family members who run the business and have been personally involved in everything from producing tea to sewing pillows. In addition to the fragrance of the pillows, the room walkways feature pictures detailing the process of hard work that goes into making pillows. In keeping with the black tea theme, room lights are designed with black tea leaves, and under the contrast of the soft light, the leaves spread out, contributing to Black Tea Workshop’s unique style. Rooms are spacious and well-lit inside and out, simple and refined in layout, and faintly fragrant of black tea – features provided by the Black Tea Workshop family in order to provide honored guests with the best and most comfortable atmosphere. The main goal of the workshop is sustainable management of the old tea garden, which naturally makes the old trees the point of focus. So before the 2010 Chinese New Year, in the dead of winter which is the best time for transplanting, the old trees are moved from the garden inside the house to be taken care of. We currently grow them in the Black Tea Workshop courtyard, where they accompany us each day. The days pass just as they once did amidst the tea trees; even when we don’t go to the garden anymore, we feel their presence. When you come to Black Tea Workshop, please take a close look at them. These are the trees that raised our family, standing strong and tall, braving winds and rain for over sixty years! Black Tea Workshop also features cuisine made from old tea garden black tea and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Our specialty milk tea blends the fragrance of milk and tea, refreshing without being overly sweet, and goes well with our handmade cookies and black tea cheesecake. Black Tea Workshop is a place that will leave wonderful memories! This is Black Tea Workshop! A small, warm, beautiful, carefree place! |
