The reduction method comprises: arranging each column and each row of pixels of the Chinese bit-map font in two sets of serial numbers respectively based on the arranged sequence; configuring a plurality of predetermined reduced bit-map format; receiving the requirement for reducing the font into a certain predetermined reduced bit-map format; configuring a plurality of two neighbored column and row of pixel pairs as the predetermined operating unit, respectively; and, conducting a binary OR operation on the predetermined plurality of operating units to obtain the effect of reduction, wherein the number of the plurality of two neighbored column and row of pixel pairs is a half of the row number difference between the predetermined original bit-map text format and the reduced bit-map text format.
