技術現況敘述-中文採用OLED的智慧型終端機種越來越多,根據市調機構統計約佔1/3的市場占有率,同時顯示元件的耗能也佔裝置整體系統耗能的1/3。目前的面板大廠並不是都有提供針對OLED面板的特性而提出節能省電的功能,例如友達,身為全球第二大AMOLED製造商,現以突破與高效能OELD研發為主,尚未針對功耗進行調校。而Samsung則是採用裝置端即時影像轉換,進行顯示節能技術。但節能的效果並沒有想像中的好,因此本計畫提出了另一種思維利用離線方式運作,可與現行裝置顯示節能技術互相搭配,達到更有效率的節能目的。針對OLED面板每個pixel用電量不同的特性,本計畫在不影響使用者觀看畫面的情況下,對每個pixel的用電量進行調校,藉以延長移動裝置的使用時間。
技術現況敘述-英文There is a growing variety of smart devices on OLED displays. Market research institutes estimate that OLED has approximately 1/3 of the market share. It is worth noting that display components account for 1/3 of the power consumption for the systems. Not all the panel makers have come up with the solutions for energy conservation based on the characteristics of OELD displays. As the world’s second largest AMOLED maker, AUO is currently focusing on the R&D of high-performance OLED. The company has not begun to calibrate the energy consumption of its products. Meanwhile, Samsung resorts to instantaneous image conversions to reuce energy consumption, but the results failed to meet expectations. This project proposes a different approach, with offline operations to complement the energy consumption reduction technologies currently running on devices. By leveraging the different characteristics of energy consumption of individual pixel on OLED, this solution seeks to extend the runtime of mobile devices by calibrating the power energy of each pixel without affecting the viewing of users.

潛力預估: AMOLED顯示介面技術則可減少系統耗電8%以上,本技術研發重點在於開發如何快速找出人眼無法辨識卻又較省電的成色來取代之,現有的OLED相關技術專利以台灣光電大廠友達光電與法人研究機構工研院位居專利數量領先之第二及第四位,但透過分析之後發現,目前相關研發專利仍以材料、製程為主,而本計畫提出透過OLED發光特性配合軟體工程演算法進行節能技術之方法專利,目前尚未有相關提案,正可協助國內業者進一步進行軟體專利佈局整合,持續掌握此領域之專利優勢。
