When you first turn the oxcart-wheel door and enter Longmen House Bed & Breakfast, you’ll be met with a carefully crafted tiled map of Penghu. Then, after knocking on the stained wooden door, you’ll set foot on a red-tile floor and enter the central courtyard, flanked by traditional tiled windows and equipped with bamboo chairs and redwood bed, like a trip backward in time. The outdoor pavilion was hand-built by Mr. Chen from driftwood over the course of four months, and sits near another recently completed “Penghu boat” pavilion which is perfect for lying down in and enjoy the starry nights. One of life’s great pleasures is dining in these cool pavilions, enjoying a fresh Penghu seafood barbeque under the beautiful nighttime skies. Or you could sit in one of the second-floor balconies, looking out across the starry night sky and enjoying the sea breeze as you sip on a cup of coffee or tea. Then, after knocking on the stained wooden door, you’ll set foot on a red-tile floor and enter the central courtyard, flanked by traditional tiled windows and equipped with bamboo chairs and redwood bed, like a trip backward in time. The outdoor pavilion was hand-built by Mr. Chen from driftwood over the course of four months, and sits near another recently completed “Penghu boat” pavilion which is perfect for lying down in and enjoy the starry nights. One of life’s great pleasures is dining in these cool pavilions, enjoying a fresh Penghu seafood barbeque under the beautiful nighttime skies. Or you could sit in one of the second-floor balconies, looking out across the starry night sky and enjoying the sea breeze as you sip on a cup of coffee or tea.
